Meaningful Placements with our Residents

The Home is blessed with passionate and committed volunteers who offer over 6,500 hours of time to our residents each year. Experiences are meaningful, sometimes challenging and always rewarding. We have dozens of roles that our valued volunteers fill. Read below to learn more about volunteering at Grove Park Home.

Whether you have time once a year, or have a few hours a week, our Home is stronger with your help. Volunteers are needed seven days a week from early mornings to past dinner time. We will work to meet your schedule and to highlight your skills.

We can’t list all the volunteer opportunities we have, but here are some examples. Cafe Assistant, Life Enrichment, Friendly Visits, Dining Assistant, Shopping Aide, Gardening Support, Tour Guides, and more. Tell us what interests you and we will put your available talents to good work. Our residents appreciate our Volunteers.

We will train you for your volunteer position, but there are some minimum requirements that are necessary for the health and safety of our residents. A Criminal Reference Check, Vulnerable Sector Screening, Negative TB Test and Annual Flu Shot are all required to volunteer in our Home. Get more details on our application form.

A Volunteer Office is here to help you; from a first interview to orientation. You will meet many other volunteers and certainly a lot of staff who will support you in the work that you do at our Home. Whether you are a family member or a good neighbour, we will ensure your experience in our Home is joyful.
